Frequently Asked Questions

Important details before you purchase.

Is Personal Standards and Self-Command a PDF or digital book?

No. It is a functional local browser application. You use its interface to build your Personal Operating Standard, complete daily check-ins, manage commitments, perform weekly reviews, review progress, and export your records.

Does Male Ethos decide what my standards should be?

No. Your principles, responsibilities, standards, boundaries, and routines are self-defined and editable. The application gives you structure for defining and reviewing them, but it does not impose a universal definition of a good life.

How much time does the system take?

The application is designed around short daily check-ins of about 3–5 minutes and more deliberate weekly reviews of about 10–20 minutes. Initial setup takes longer because you are building the first version of your Personal Operating Standard.

What happens when I do not uphold a standard or miss a commitment?

The system is designed for correction rather than shame. Daily and weekly reviews help you record what happened, identify context, determine whether something needs repair or renegotiation, and choose a responsible next action.

Is this therapy, religious instruction, or a moral scoring system?

No. Personal Standards and Self-Command is a private reflection and accountability tool. It does not diagnose mental-health conditions, provide therapy, establish religious authority, judge your personal worth, or score whether you are a good man.

Where is my personal information stored?

Your working application data is stored locally in the browser profile you use to open the product. It is not stored in a required Male Ethos cloud account and does not automatically synchronize between browsers or computers.

Browser storage can be cleared, so the application provides JSON backup and restoration tools. Export backups when your records matter.

Can I export my records?

Yes. The Data section provides a JSON export for a complete restorable backup and a spreadsheet export for reading, printing, sorting, filtering, and comparing your records outside the application. Spreadsheet exports are for review and are not imported back into the app.

Do I need to install software or create a product account?

No conventional software installation is required and no product account is required to run the downloaded application. Keep the complete product folder intact and open the included index.html file in a supported desktop browser.

Which desktop browsers are supported?

The current tested desktop browsers for Male Ethos applications are Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Mozilla Firefox.

Does the application require an internet connection after download?

The application is designed to run locally after download. Product delivery, future downloads, support, and updates may require internet access.

Is this a recurring subscription?

No. Personal Standards and Self-Command is sold as a one-time purchase for $19.99. There is no recurring product subscription fee.

Important personal-development notice: Personal Standards and Self-Command supports private reflection, accountability, deliberate conduct, and review. It is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis care, religious instruction, moral judgment, or a universal definition of a good life. If you need mental-health treatment, crisis support, legal advice, or another form of qualified professional help, use an appropriate professional service.

Build Character Through Deliberate Self-Command

Turn personal standards into a practice you can review and continue.

Define the conduct you intend to practice, apply it in real situations, correct what needs repair, and build your next phase from recorded evidence instead of vague intention.
