Functional software

Not a PDF, journal prompt sheet, or static personal-development worksheet.

Your standard, not ours

You define the principles, responsibilities, standards, boundaries, and routines that matter to you.

Built for correction

Review what happened, identify needed repair, and choose the next responsible action.

Long-term ownership

No required product account or recurring fee to keep using the downloaded application.

Intentions are not a system

Knowing how you want to live is not the same as having a way to practice it.

Principles can remain abstract. Commitments can disappear into memory. A bad day can feel larger than it is. Personal Standards & Self-Command turns those moving parts into one deliberate operating system you can define, use, review, and correct.

The friction

Good intentions are easy to lose when nothing makes them explicit.

  • Broad values do not automatically become recognizable daily conduct.
  • Commitments are easier to neglect when they live only in memory.
  • Boundaries and routines become inconsistent when they are never defined clearly.
  • A lapse can turn into self-judgment instead of a specific problem to review and repair.

The Male Ethos approach

Make the standard explicit. Review the conduct. Correct the course.

  • Define principles, responsibilities, conduct standards, boundaries, and routines in one place.
  • Use short daily check-ins to record what actually happened.
  • Track commitments separately so follow-through does not depend on memory.
  • Use weekly reviews and recovery plans to decide what needs repair, reinforcement, or continuation.

Self-command becomes easier to practice when the standard is clear enough to review.

Actual application

Move through the actual workflow from defining your Personal Operating Standard to daily check-ins, commitments, weekly reviews, progress, and private data management.

Live by standards you define.

Build a practical personal operating standard, apply it daily, correct lapses, and stabilize what works over a guided four-week cycle.

Before you begin

  • Your standards are self-defined and editable.
  • Daily check-ins take about 3–5 minutes; weekly reviews about 10–20 minutes.
  • Data stays in this browser profile unless you export a JSON backup.

  • Non-negotiable standards
  • Boundaries
  • Essential routines
  • Commitments
  • Daily check-ins
  • Weekly reviews

Define your own standard

Turn broad principles into responsibilities, observable conduct standards, boundaries, and essential routines you can actually recognize.

Apply it daily

Use short conduct check-ins and routine tracking without turning every day into a long journaling exercise.

Repair without shame

Review lapses and missed commitments as specific events that may require context, communication, repair, renegotiation, or a next action.

Preserve your records. Keep working data locally, export a complete JSON backup, and create spreadsheet copies for reading, sorting, filtering, or printing.

Questions before you buy

Know exactly what you are getting.

Is Personal Standards & Self-Command a PDF, journal, or worksheet?

No. It is functional browser software. You define your Personal Operating Standard, complete daily check-ins, manage commitments, perform weekly reviews, review progress, and manage your private data inside the application.

Does Male Ethos tell me what my standards should be?

No. Your principles, responsibilities, standards, boundaries, and routines are self-defined and editable. The application gives you structure for defining and reviewing them, but it does not impose a universal definition of a good life.

Is this therapy, religious instruction, or a morality score?

No. Personal Standards & Self-Command is a private reflection and accountability tool. It does not diagnose mental-health conditions, provide therapy, establish religious authority, judge your personal worth, or score whether you are a good man.

How much time does the system take?

Daily check-ins are designed to take about 3–5 minutes, while weekly reviews are designed to take about 10–20 minutes. Initial setup takes longer because you are building the first version of your Personal Operating Standard.

What happens when I do not uphold a standard or miss a commitment?

The system is designed for correction rather than shame. Daily and weekly reviews help you record what happened, identify context, determine whether something needs repair or renegotiation, and choose a responsible next action.

Is software installation required?

No conventional software installation is required. Download the product package, extract the complete folder, keep its files together, and open the included index.html file in a supported desktop browser.

Does the application require an internet connection?

The application is designed to run locally after download. Product delivery, future downloads, support, and updates may require internet access.

Where are my personal records stored?

Your working application data is stored locally in the browser profile you use. It does not automatically synchronize between browsers or computers, and your working records are not automatically transmitted to Male Ethos.

Browser storage can be cleared, so export JSON backups when your records matter.

Can I export my records?

Yes. The Data section provides a JSON export for a complete restorable backup and a spreadsheet export for reading, printing, sorting, filtering, and comparing records outside the application. Spreadsheet exports are for review and cannot be imported back into the app.

Which desktop browsers are supported?

The application should work in most modern desktop browsers, but the officially tested and supported browsers are Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Mozilla Firefox.

Is this a recurring subscription?

No. Personal Standards & Self-Command is a one-time $19.99 purchase. There is no recurring product subscription fee.

What does the Seven-Day Technical & Delivery Guarantee cover?

It covers qualifying delivery, corrupted-file, supported-browser compatibility, duplicate-charge, or materially inaccurate-description issues that cannot reasonably be resolved. It is not a general satisfaction, change-of-mind, or free-trial guarantee.

Personal Standards & Self-Command supports private reflection, accountability, deliberate conduct, and review. It is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis care, religious instruction, moral judgment, or a universal definition of a good life.

Build character through deliberate self-command.

Make your standards explicit enough to practice, review, and continue.
